Everything for a server, in the same window
Every server, a keystroke away
Open SSH sessions and local shells in tabs, or side by side in splits. Press ⌘K to jump to any host or command. Keep the commands you type every week as snippets.
EmberSSH can reopen your windows and tabs when it starts, so you pick up where you left off.
Files without a second app
Every connection has a Files drawer under its terminal. Drag in files and whole folders, download with a click, and watch each transfer finish.
When a name already exists on the other side, EmberSSH asks before anything is overwritten.
Edit files where they live
Open a remote file in the built-in editor, or in the editor you already use. Changes go back to the server, and if someone changed the file there in the meantime, EmberSSH stops and shows you instead of overwriting it.
Unsaved work is kept as an encrypted draft, even if the connection drops.
Bring your servers with you
Import hosts from your ~/.ssh/config or straight from Tailscale, and add the
keys you already have, passphrases included.
Your keys stay on your computer
- Encrypted on your computer
- Passwords, private keys and snippets live in an encrypted vault. On a Mac, the key that unlocks it is kept in the macOS Keychain.
- No account, no cloud
- There is nothing to sign up for and nothing synced. Moving to a new computer takes one encrypted backup file that you keep.
- Host keys checked every time
- The first connection shows the server's fingerprint. If it ever changes, EmberSSH stops and tells you before sending anything.
- Nothing reported back
- No analytics and no tracking. The only request EmberSSH makes on its own is an update check at launch, and you can turn it off.

Questions
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once and every future version is included.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Ask within 30 days of your purchase and you get your money back in full, no questions asked. How refunds work.
Which platforms does it run on?
macOS today, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Windows and Linux versions are on the way, and your purchase covers them too.
Does it support port forwarding or jump hosts?
Not today. EmberSSH focuses on terminals, files and editing, and signs in with passwords or SSH keys (with passphrases).
Can I use it on more than one computer?
Yes, on your own computers. There's no cloud sync: export an encrypted backup on one and import it on the other.
What does EmberSSH send over the internet?
Only your SSH connections and, at launch, a check for a newer version (which you can turn off in Settings). No analytics, no account.
